What I learn from : This is learning experience design book

This is one of the first books I read to start my career as a learning experience designer.

Experiences are highly valued in our lives. Some experiences are forgettable, but some may turn our lives upside down and change our lives for good

Experience, especially, is highly valuable when it comes to our learning. At the same time, education is generally not designed as an experience. It is designed as the educational system. Schools use a systematic approach to facilitate learning in a highly structured linear manner. This system is based on things such as learning objectives, topics, curricula, rubrics, assessments, quantifiable outcomes, and diplomas. This may explain the reason why the experience of going to school can feel personal, boring, or even frustrating for some. It is hard to make the schooling system relatable. This same can be applied to professional development. Many of us have clicked through an e-learning course that is predictable and uninspiring, or even because the content is structured in a logical, orderly, and easily accessible way.

However, this does not mean people hate learning.I learn this while reading the book through Coursera courseraThere is an undeniable intrinsic motivation to learn about things that you care about. People can spend years learning how to play an instrument or building a company from scratch. Learning experiences, indeed, have the power to excite and inspire people. As a learning designer, you are responsible beyond offering instructions or generating content. You are responsible for the complete experiences, from beginning to the end and beyond. For everything that happens, what the learners do, how it makes them feel, what they learn, and how the outcome affects the learners as human beings.
